St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
St. Andrew's states its vision as being 'a welcoming community of Faith centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and living as examples of His love, grace, hope, forgiveness and peace in our families' and in the wider community. It describes itself as reaching its community and the world with the hope of Jesus, and sums up its character as 'a small town feel with the heart of Jesus leading us.'
St. Andrew’s is Arthur’s Presbyterian congregation, worshipping in a buff-brick church on Frederick Street East with a square corner tower, a wide Gothic tracery window and a rough stone foundation. The Wellington County Museum and Archives holds The Centennial History of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Arthur, Ontario, published in 1974, which places the congregation’s founding in the mid-1870s; the archives also hold photographs of the church from around the turn of the twentieth century.
The congregation belongs to the Presbyterian Church in Canada. It worships on Sunday mornings at eleven o’clock and livestreams and records its services, posting the links on its page within the denomination’s website.
Since 2022 the building has also housed the Arthur Canadian Reformed Church, which rents it for services at nine in the morning and two in the afternoon. On a Sunday the church is in use from early morning until mid-afternoon.
